Performances and Competitions

The UMD Treblemakers will be having our first concert back in person on Saturday, November 13th, 2021 at 7PM in Hoff Theatre in STAMP! We're so excited to see you there!!

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the UMD Treblemakers have been releasing virtual performances in lieu of in-person shows and gigs. Explore our Virtual Releases page to check out what we've been making! Keep scrolling to learn more about past performances and competitions.

Performances

The UMD Treblemakers LOVE performing, because it gives them a chance to share their work with family, friends, fans, and the UMD community. During a normal school year, the UMD Treblemakers hold 1-2 performances a semester. Trebs rehearse three times a week in prepartion for these shows. Rehearsal tiem is spent practicing our arrangements and enhancing our sound. The music director leads the majority of rehearsals, providing members with specific notes about their performances when singing each song as a group. Rehearsal is a crucial aspect of Trebs, as this is where we are able to produce such amazing music! To see all our past performances, please visit our YouTube channel below.

Trebs at our 30th Anniversary Show. This one was especially special because so many of our Alumni came and sang with us on stage!

Of course we had to take a pic with our brother group, The UMD Generics!

Competitions

Almost every year, the UMD Treblemakers compete in the ICCA's, more commonly known as the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. This is a highly prestigious and compeition interantion a cappella compeition. Trebs have made it to the semifinals in their region EVERY year they have competed!
In preparation for the ICCA's, the UMD Treblemakers create an extensive set through 40+ hours of intense rehearsal. The group dedicates significant time to rehearsing choreography, music, and enhancing performability to put on a competitive set each year. This competition in an amazing opportunity for the Trebs to show their resilience and passion for a cappella performances and musical achievements. Below is a video recording of their most recent competition ICCA set from 2020. Enjoy!

Here's a photo of Trebs during an ICCA's dress rehearsal! This was the first time we had seen everyone's outfits all together, and we were SO excited.

Below is a recording of our ICCA Quarterfinals set for the competition in 2020. We had so much fun, and it was so rewarding showing the audience our performance. Take a look!

Gigs

Although COVID-19 has put a halt to in person performances, it has not stopped the UMD Treblemakers from participating in virtual gigs and performances for many different audiences. Over the recent holiday season, the UMD Treblemakers were able to share one of their virtually recorded music videos at Congressman Hoyer’s holiday party! Although they would have loved to perform live at the celebration, being able to share their music with a congressman who is a UMD alum along with his close family and friends was so exciting! In addition, the Trebs have put together another virtual music video that will be shared at an Elon University Make A Wish Foundation charity event! They are so honored to be included in such a special and important event, and they are looking forward to spreading joy and love with so many people during the virtual concert. The UMD Treblemakers are determined to continue performing and participating in future gigs, even if in a virtual setting, because they want to be able to share their love of music and love for each other with the world! Please see the Virtual Releases page to check out what we've been working on this semester.
